1  The Royal Botanical Gardens
We have Canada’s largest botanical garden, a treasured resource with a mandate to bring together people, plants and nature.  Attend their events, explore the gardens, dine in the café or two teahouses, and enjoy the large gift shop.

2  Conservation Halton
We have an amazing network of parkland and natural areas right at our doorstep, allowing us to stay active outside all year round.

3  Fantastic Festivals
We have many free festivals every year: Burlington hosts Canada’s Largest Ribfest, a Children’s Festival, and a Kite Festival, and Oakville has The Waterfront Festival, Midnight Madness, The Oakville Ribfest and The Oakville Jazz Festival to name a few.

Thanks to our local farmers and food producers, we have an abundance of local produce, artisanal foods and baked goods. This winter check out Terra @ Home Winter Indoor Market at Terra Greenhouses, Milton from January 11th – April 5th.

5  History & Heritage
We’re steeped in history and there are many places to discover it: for example, Ireland House, Joseph Brant Museum, Paletta Mansion, Crawford Lake, Erchless Estate, Sovereign House, Halton Region Museum, Oakville Museum and the Halton County Radial Railway Museum.

6   Taste of Burlington and Taste of Oakville
We have a huge selection of outstanding restaurants in the area.  Each winter and summer, these prix fixe deals are the best way to experience the culinary accomplishments of our local chefs and restaurateurs.

7   The Bruce Trail
The world renowned Bruce Trail meanders along the Niagara Escarpment through Halton Region.  The Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club maintains our section stretching from Grimsby to Milton.

8   Outdoor Skating Rinks
Who needs The Rockefeller Centre when we have Bronte Park, the lakeside at Spencer Smith Park, and the new kids skating rink in Downtown Oakville’s Town Square?

9  Music & Theatre
Halton regularly draws well-known acts to The Burlington Performing Arts Centre and The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.  Local performers can hone their craft at Theatre Sheridan, The Drury Lane Theatre, Theatre Burlington and the BurlOak Theatre Group.

The Burlington Art Centre is the 7th largest public art gallery in Ontario.  Explore their exhibits, as well as those at The Oakville Galleries and several independently owned galleries throughout the area

12  Golf Galore
There are 9 courses in Burlington alone, and a staggering 42 in Halton Region – some even offer winter golf!  Some of the finest courses in Canada are right here.

13  Heritage Trails
The Oakville Heritage Trails boast nearly 57 kilometres of trails, accessible for walking, jogging and cycling, with information stations describing Oakville’s  land and its people, from 9000 BC to 2000 AD.

14  Downtown Destinations
Downtown Burlington, Downtown Oakville, Bronte Village and Kerr Village offer unique places to shop, browse, enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate, or eat a fine meal.
