Cultural Grants provide $100,000 for local arts community

More than 20 local organizations benefit from annual grant program

The Oakville Arts Council recently awarded a total of $101,500 in grants to 22 local not-for-profit arts and culture organizations as part of the Town of Oakville’s Cultural Grants program.

“A thriving arts community is an essential component in creating Canada’s most livable town,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “Grant funding helps local organizations develop and produce programs that strengthen the cultural offerings of our town and enrich the lives of all Oakville residents.”

Administered by the Oakville Arts Council on behalf of the Town of Oakville, the Cultural Grants program assists local not-for-profit arts, heritage and culture groups with their operating and program costs.

The following recipients were selected by the Cultural Grants Review Committee.

“A Cultural Grant can provide the financial boost a local arts organization needs to launch a new program or project,” said Bernadette Ward, operations director for the Oakville Arts Council. “Our goal is to help organizations move toward sustainability through new or expanded programming or operational improvements that can lead to an increased supporter base.”
