NIAGARA/CNW/ – Wine Country Ontario hits the road this summer in its shiny new retro-fitted truck, taking the wine tasting experience directly to consumers across Ontario. Dubbed ‘Dare to Compare’, the mobile tour showcases Ontario VQA wines and encourages Ontarians to sample and discover what’s great about local…for free!
The 16-week tour will make weekly stops in various municipalities, including Toronto, Oakville, Hamilton, Ottawa, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Barrie, Gravenhurst and Blue Mountain. Each weekend, the truck will set up shop at local festivals and events, making unexpected stops along the way. “While consumers are always invited to experience the magic of Ontario Wine Country first hand, we know this isn’t possible for everyone. So, this summer we decided to bring the experience to them,” says Hillary Dawson, President of the Wine Council of Ontario for ‘Wine Country Ontario’. “The wine truck will transport them to Ontario Wine Country, if only for a moment, offering them a delicious taste of their own backyard. We couldn’t be more excited to travel this wonderful province, spread the Wine Country Ontario message and meet fabulous people along the way.”
The campaign will be promoted via social media on Wine Country Ontario’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. Consumers are also encouraged to follow the truck using the hashtag #followthetruck or by visiting www.winecountryontario.ca/tasteontariowine.
