Mark your calendars! The 48th annual Grimsby Festival of Art is coming to Grimsby again this year! The Grimsby Festival of Art had its origin in 1967. Forty eight years later, this festival continues to showcase high calibre artists and artisans. Our move from a one day festival to a two day event was highly successful and we look forward to another great event in 2015.
The Festival is jointly hosted by the Rotary Club of Grimsby and by Community Living Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln, as partners in this annual fundraising event.
The Rotary Club has served Grimsby since 1976. In keeping with its motto of “Service Above Self”, Rotary supports many projects that address today’s most critical issues such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. Rotary also provides programs for youth, international students’ exchanges, professional exchanges, and vocational and career development opportunities.
Community Living was founded in 1965 as a not-for-profit agency that provides services and supports to over 300 people with intellectual disabilities in the area. Residential services, day programs, employment support, family support, respite and recreational programs, and a valued transportation service are just some of the supports delivered by Community Living.
The Grimsby Festival of Art is a “juried” show, which guarantees a high calibre of talented exhibitors. It attracts over 100 fine artists and artisans in the disciplines of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, wood carving and photography, plus craftspeople of every description including potters, weavers, and stained glass designers.
Consistent with this quality of work is an annual attendance of about 3,000 collectors, art lovers and other people who simply want a relaxing day viewing great art or perhaps having an interesting discussion with an artist.
The entrance fee at the gate is $7.00 for adults; children 16 and under are free and a $2.00 off admission coupon is available on our website.
All money generated by this event goes to fund the community projects of the Rotary Club of Grimsby and Community Living of Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln.
