Craftadian Market: Fresh, Handmade Finds!

Craftadian Spring market takes place at McMaster Innovation Park on Saturday, April 8th, 2017. Doors open at 10am and will feature a curated selection of the region’s finest independent Makers along with special DIY events, gourmet food, music and more. Nearly 80 local artisans confirmed for April 8 market at McMaster Innovation park

Shoppers will find a variety of quality handmade goods – ranging from custom jewellery and housewares to organic skincare and paper goods, plus much more.

The spring edition is a DIY shopping extravaganza, “there is beauty in imperfection and having items that are really handmade,” says Jacqueline Hunter, show director for Craftadian.

Keep an eye out for local Burlington designer ,Keegan Lodder, owner of Gusset Leather specializing in crafting unique, durable, completely handmade and one-of-a-kind leather goods that improve with age, reflecting the character of the wearer.

Ceramics are also a hot handmade item at this year’s spring market. From hand thrown pottery made in Port Colborne to Dundas and Stoney Creek, there will be an array of unique ceramics to select from.

The market also features an assortment of wood that wows! From hand spun bowls made with Canadian birch to salt and pepper shakers beautifully crafted in Burlington.

Apart from stellar handmade shopping, attendees can take their pick of food and treat options from Jerk Brothers Authentic Caribbean, Dirty South homemade bbq favourite, Brightside Brew among other artisan food vendors.

Tickets run for $5 a person, and the first 50 families get a free swag bag filled with handmade goodies. What’s more, a portion of the proceeds go towards Crafting for a Cure, a not-for-profit registered charity that looks for opportunities to ensure children are having a positive experience when a hospital visit is necessary.
