Ten designers, 11 eateries and hundreds of guests gather for one thing (besides a good time): to raise money for a good cause on May 5. There’s no better way to celebrate “Hamilton’s can’t-miss fashion and food event.” Now in its third year, this annual soiree supports the Good Shepherd Centres, a staple in the community since 1961, working to break the cycle of poverty. The centre operates many community programs, which include: youth services, health clinics, affordable and supportive housing, palliative services, emergency food and clothing, mental health programs, and an assisted living program for seniors.
The 11 local Hamilton establishments that will be serving up some of the city’s signature tastes are: Baci Ristorante, Carmen’s Group, Cavallo Nero, Good Shepherd Food Services, Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s, Mezcal TNT, Mulberry Street Coffeehouse, Nellie James Too, Radius, Rapscallion, and Two Black Sheep.
Also, this year, Good Shepherd and Glamour in the Hammer celebrate Milli, Hamilton’s fashion icon, and her 53 years of bringing glamour to the Hammer, with a peek into her archive. Ten of Hamilton’s eclectic and edgy fashion designers will be featured in the fashion show: Blackbird Studios, DeMontigny, Designs by Mallory, The Eye of Faith, Gattina Designs, Gowans Couture, Lissa Hill Leather, Rachel Warner, Terraware, and Vespidame.
It all happens at the Hamilton Convention Centre for just $75 per person. To buy tickets or learn more visit goodshepherdcentres.ca, call 905-528-6565 x3309, or email events@gsch.ca.
