Like so many celebrations this year, New Year’s Eve will look a lot different than it has been in years past. Most of us will be hunkered down at home with a few family members or social-bubble-mates, enjoying indoor festivities as we eagerly await the arrival of 2021.
This year, why not custom create a dinner menu that featuring foods from around the world? Order in a variety of takeout dishes that are new and different to you! We’re blessed in Mississauga with a huge diversity of incredible restaurants, with something for every budget and every taste.
Here’s the idea
Start your special meal with different types of takeout appetizers like empanadas, sushi or pierogies, then move on to fabulously flavourful pizza and pasta or butter chicken and naan, and end with churros or rum cake. Let’s give these talented chefs and local restaurants some much-needed support as we careen into a new year filled with possibilities!
Get Ready
• Plan out your “itinerary” 1 to 2 weeks in advance. Call locations ahead of time to confirm any special menus, opening and closing times, and find out about delivery options.
• Decide on your approach—will one person decide on the whole menu and make it a surprise for everyone else? Or, split up and let each person select one or two categories? Have some fun and get creative!
• Consider having an early dinner and then settling in for a movie or game night—you may find food delivery faster at an earlier time in the day.
Get Set
• Put together fun table décor from the countries or cultures you are ordering from.
•Place orders early in the day, to avoid delays or disappointment when certain dishes are sold out.
