Pumpkins are a natural – and obvious – way to update your home for fall. The fireplace definitely becomes a focal point, starting at this time of year. We gather around it for relaxing, conversation and warm ambiance. You can create visual interest on your front steps by incorporating traditional and heirloom pumpkins in various shades. Mum’s the word for hearty floral displays by the front door. Line your steps with potted mums that will continue to bloom in sun or shade. Remember to water them when dry and remove dead blooms to get continuous flowers for the season.
