You’ve probably heard the saying, “If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” One surefire way to please mom is to gather together with friends and family on Mother’s Day. Whether you choose to meet up at a restaurant or host at home, it’s a day to dote on her after she spent all those years devoted to you.
Breakfast, Brunch & “Linner”
What’s mom’s favourite mealtime? Whether it’s early morning breakfast, midday brunch or a late meal somewhere between lunch and dinner, the only difficulty with this choice will be deciding where to go and remembering to make the reservations in plenty of time. Check to see if Mom’s favourite spot is hosting a special Mother’s Day event or try a place that she can experience for the first time.
Mom’s Cup of Tea
Perhaps a big meal isn’t the right choice for your Mom. There are lots of great places to enjoy something lighter for Mother’s Day. Consider a tea. The Elman Campbell Museum on Main Street in Newmarket is hosting their annual Mother’s Day Tea again this year.
Make it an Event
If it’s more of an event you’re looking for, check out The Aurora Community Band’s annual spring concert “With Quiet Courage – A Musical Celebration of Mothers and Bravery”. It will be an inspiring performance by Aurora’s own Concert Band. It happens at the Trinity Anglican Church: 79 Victoria St. in Aurora starting at 3:30pm. Tickets: $10 for adults or $5 for seniors & students. Get them at the door or by contacting auroracommunityband@gmail.com
