Event Details

Welcome to Canada’s first Community Supported Art program! Community Supported Art is a new way to buy local art, and support the community behind it.

This buy-local model – based on the approach of community-supported agriculture programs – is already active in more than 30 American cities as a way to support artists in the creation of new work, to establish relationships between artists and art buyers, and to launch an exciting new way to collect local art. We’re bringing it north of the border to the art-forward city of Hamilton.

We chose the curators, they chose the artists, and the result will be a limited number of three collections of never-before-seen, special edition art. You just have to choose your collection.

Community Supported Art is a not-for-profit program with revenue from purchased collections directly supporting the artists and programming. Its goal is to build relationships and reciprocity between artists and the larger community.

This project was created by CoBALT Connects, a Hamilton-based arts service organization.
