Every September, tens of thousands of Canadians band together through the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, to fight shoreline litter, a key threat to our waterways. A conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF, the Shoreline Cleanup is the largest direct action conservation program in Canada.
This September, join us to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Shoreline Cleanup. To commemorate this milestone, 20 designated public shoreline cleanups – including this cleanup – held in 20 communities across Canada – will feature special celebrations. The celebration at Coronation Park will feature prizes, refreshments, a water station, light snacks, all supplies for the cleanup and a certificate showing your participation in one of the largest direct action conservation programs in Canada and more! Over its history, the Shoreline Cleanup has mobilized more than 500,000 individuals across Canada to help keep our rivers, lakes and oceans healthy for the communities and wildlife that depend on them.
This year’s Shoreline Cleanup runs September 21 – 29. To learn more about the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup or to pre-register for this event, please visit ShorelineCleanup.ca.
