Event Details

The Oakville Chapter of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) will be hosting its fifth FREE National Engineering Month event, to be held March 1, 2014. This daylong event is open to children of ALL AGES, from Oakville and Milton.

Students in grades 1-12 will be able to participate in a wide range of engaging activities. The day will begin with a ‘Speed Engineering’ activity where students can talk to engineers from diverse array of disciplines.Next up is the highlight event… a Design Challenge! Students will work in teams to design and build a structure to fit the requirements of the challenge set for them. Each design will be tested later in the day in front of the whole group. During a PIZZA LUNCH (provided for all participants) you can participant in mini- Engineering Design activities or talk to the people at our trade show. The trade show will showcase student groups and opportunities. For younger siblings, and younger children, this year we will have a Discovery Room! This space will provide younger children a space to discover and explore engineering. Parent supervision is required, and at the parent’s discretion, their younger children are welcome to participate in the other events of the day.

We look forward to seeing everyone for this fun-filled day learning about how to Engineer for a Diverse World! All of these activities also provide students with the opportunity to win prizes!
