The Burlington Pier will be shining purple in commemoration of the Shine the Light for Woman Abuse Campaign. This campaign is in conjunction with November’s Woman Abuse Prevention Month.

Halton Women’s Place will launch this lighting on November 18th from 5pm – 7pm, which will include Mayor Rick Goldring presenting the organization with a proclamation stating that the City of Burlington is a Zero Tolerance Zone for Woman Abuse.

As well, community activist, Mina Wahidi will share her story of surviving abuse.

Food trucks Gorilla Cheese and The Dirty South will be on site as well as great music from Jan’s DJ Services.

This event is open to the public.
