The Amazing Bed Race

This event is organized jointly by Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation & Rotary Club of Burlington North. The purpose is simple, to raise money while participating in a Community building event in downtown Burlington. Families, businesses, schools and Community organizations will partake in an exciting day of friendly competition by racing “beds” on a downtown 100 Metre course all in the name of Community spirit and helping to raise money for two incredible charities.

Registration will begin at 11 am at Civic Square and a Parade of Beds will begin at 12 pm. Races will start on Brant Street at Civic Square and run north to Ontario Street. Teams will race at least 2 times and have an opportunity to build their own beds or rent beds from the event. Limited rentals will be available and on a first come first serve basis. Participant safety is paramount to this event and great care is taken to ensure that participants and spectators enjoy the afternoon.

A Kid’s Stroller race will take place concurrently. All kids must register by 1pm. Parents can run with the kids. The Stroller Race is FREE of charge with donations accepted. Kids between the ages of 2 and 12 will race in a 40-meter straight line with their own stroller and stuffed animal or toy of choice to ride in the stroller. All kids receive a medal. Kids are encouraged to come in costume.
