The Bruce Duncan Memorial Lecture Series – October, 2014

GREEN’s Bruce Duncan Memorial Lecture Series is scheduled to begin Sunday, October 26th with the first lecture in this year’s series. This month’s lecture will be presented by Monte Dennis and is entitled “The Risk of Public Participation in Saving the Escarpment”.

Monte Dennis is a Burlington resident, long time environmental advocate and Vice President of CONE (Coalition on the Niagara Escarpment). His lecture will provide an in-depth discussion of SLAPP (Strategic Legislation Against Public Participation) lawsuits against Canadian citizens, communities and environmental groups.

The hour long presentation will be held at 2:00 pm at the Waterfront Trust Centre in Hamilton. There is a cover charge of $5.00 and door prizes and refreshments will be provided following the lecture, along with an opportunity to talk with the speaker.
