Jeff Cooling from Jeff’s Guy Shop suggests dark denim can take
you from dress down to dress up! “Our go to jean is from Paige
premium denim – the Federal Slim Fit in a dark wash called
"Russ” works well with a T-shirt or a more formal jacket. Another
Paige jean, the Lennox, is slightly more tapered, and their “black
shadow” tone is a great saturated black that won’t fade.”
There are plenty of shoe options downtown for the “in between
sneakers and dress shoes." Frasca says browns, like a walnut
shade or navy blue, are the hot colours right now. His only rule is
make sure your shoes and belt match!
Don’t forget the arm candy
- bracelets are a must!
Scrivener’s carries beaded
bracelets from Liel & Lentz
Co., Canadian made in
Toronto. At Jeff’s Guy Shop
you will find leather and
metal bracelets from Ted
Baker, as well as beaded
bracelets (wooden or
stone) from local supplier,
Purple Lotus.
If celebratory cigars will
be part of your New Year’s
evening, Filice from Village
Cigar Company suggests something mild and smooth if you are
not a regular cigar smoker. You can visit the shop on Pine Street
downtown for some great advice, and a wide variety of options
whether you are a novice or cigar aficionado. “For those heading
to a cigar friendly event, be sure to carry a quality lighter and
cutter, and protect your cigars in a travel case inside your
jacket pocket.”
