Event Details

Crane Girl, by Falling Iguana Theatre, presented as part of the Hamilton Fringe Festival (July 17-26)!

Inspired by a real event, Best New Play Award Winner Crane Girl is a fictionalized exploration of what might cause a woman with no training,

experience, or equipment, to freestyle climb a crane. It follows Jane, a young married woman who, having witnessed a tragic event, suddenly finds

herself feeling untethered. Jane can see no way out of the cage she has built around herself until she realizes she should not have been looking for a way

out, but rather, up. Every character lives somewhere on the crane, so as Jane continues her thrilling ascent, she comes face to face with the very past

she is trying to climb away from. Crane Girl explores rage, women’s bodies, reproductive rights, and what it means to find your voice in a patriarchal

nightmare. And it’s funny! This fast paced, highly physical play follows three actors playing multiple roles, and the real kicker? The titular Crane Girl

won’t touch the ground until curtain!

There are seven performances at Theatre Aquarius Studio (190 King William St.) as part of the Hamilton Fringe Festival: July 17 at 7 pm, July 19 at 1:45

pm, July 20 at 3:30 pm, July 21 at 6:15 (Relaxed Performance), July 24 at 7:45 pm, July 25 at 10:15 pm, and July 26 at 6:45 p.m.
