Cynthia’s
Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant has been an established Chinese restaurant in Oakville for almost 15 years. This restaurant is designed to feel like a banquet from ancient China. As such, the interior is decorated with Chinese sculptures and artwork. The furniture looks directly from Ming dynasty, and the staff dresses in traditional imperial robes. Most of all, the food is delightfully authentic so that you’ll dine like an emperor.
Like most Chinese restaurants, you are given a pot of tea and a menu as soon as you sit down. Then, you can start to think of ordering appetizers. Cynthia’s has a wide range of appetizers. Their rolls, which include egg rolls, spring rolls and shrimp rolls, are crispy and flavourful, served with a side of sweet & sour sauce. Also available are fried shrimp wontons, chicken wings, spare ribs and chashu (sliced barbecue pork).
Cythia’s has a wide range of rice dishes to choose from. Of course, there’s the basic steamed white rice, which is traditionally paired with every Chinese meal. However, if you want something a bit more special, then Cynthia’s offers 10 different variations of fried rice. A notable option is their house special fried rice with shrimp, chicken, and chashu. The image below is their young chow fried rice consisting of peas, shrimp, and chashu.
Sweet & Sour
If sweet and sour suits your taste, then Cynthia has many options for you. Their sweet and sour sauce has the options of being doused in chicken, pork, or ribs. If you’re looking for something a bit spicier, Cynthia’s offers general tao chicken, szechuan chicken, and mongolian beef. Whether you like your meat sweet, sour, or spicy, there’ll be many options on their menu to satisfy your taste buds.
If you go to Cynthia’s around 6:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, you might have the pleasure of witnessing a performance! Cynthia’s serves as a venue for all types of performances from dances, to music, to plays. So, why not come for a surprise concert?
If you’d rather enjoy your food in peace, then that’s alright too. Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant will be there any time you feel in the mood for some Chinese!
