The installation will start with a lively celebration on August 12 at 11 AM, featuring a live mariachi trio.
Los Trompos, meaning “The Tops” in English, originated in Mexico City and has captivated audiences worldwide by celebrating Mexican culture through contemporary design. The installation, created by Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena, and presented in collaboration with Creos, showcases a collection of intricately designed spinning tops in various sizes and vibrant colors. Crafted from a combination of wood and woven fabrics, these tops blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.
Visitors to Los Trompos can interact with the exhibit, spinning, sitting, and even lounging on the captivating tops. The interactive nature of the installation encourages a sense of community and shared experiences, making it an ideal outing for families and friends of all ages.
