Event Details

Hamilton Day is an initiative by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Held annually on the first Saturday in November, Hamilton Day is an opportunity for local and regional visitors to support Hamilton retailers, cafes, restaurants, bars, theatres, independent artists and musicians, florists, gyms & fitness studios, personal services, entertainment, and games stores – among others.

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce first held Hamilton Day in 1931 during the depths of the Great Depression to boost spirits and the local economy. 90 years later, following the pandemic, the event was revived and made annual due to overwhelming community support.

Today, Hamilton Day is a city-wide celebration that supports small businesses across Hamilton, Ontario. Bursting with community pride and entertainment, it offers a premiere opportunity for local and regional visitors to explore, connect with, and shop all areas of our city.

Hamilton Day 2023 will span the first weekend of November and begins with a kickoff concert and market the evening of Friday, November 3rd. The following day, Saturday November 4th, the city will become abuzz as Hamiltonians and tourists hit the streets and hop online to explore a full day of activity, programming, and on-street entertainment made possible by over 1000 participating local restaurants/retailers, 8 artisan/farmers markets, 11 BIA partners, and key tourism partners. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, November 5 with 2 marathons via our partner, the Hamilton Road2Hope Marathon.
