Join the City of Burlington for Big Drums are Calling… National Indigenous Peoples Day, a vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture, community, and tradition.
Taking place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bandshell in Central Park (2331 New Street, Burlington), this free family-friendly event will feature live music, drumming, dancing, storytelling, and cultural presentations from Indigenous performers and knowledge keepers.
Guests can enjoy performances by singer Logan Staats, singer/drummers Shannon Thunderbird and Kate Dickson, storyteller Jim Adams, Jingle Dress and Fancy Shawl dancer Robin Rice, and Two Spirit–Two Heart Traditional Basket Dancer Lyndon George. Community organizations will also be on-site sharing resources, education, and opportunities to connect.
National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to honour the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples while fostering understanding, respect, and community connection.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
