Pottery - Artist Mini Series - Fish sculpting

In this artist mini series I will teach you step by step how I sculpt my small fish ornaments. The workshop will take place over a three week period and is for beginners and those who have experience working with clay. During the first class students will plan the design of their sea creature and learn how to build form using the pinch pot method. In the second class I’ll demonstrate how to use different techniques and tools to refine their form and add details like fins and eyes. During this class I will also show students how I use sprig moulds to create tiny detailed figures such as the bait that the fish eats! On the last class, depending on time and planning from the previous session, students will either paint their pieces with colored slips or dip them in glazes.

This course includes everything you need to create your pieces. Instruction, equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and firing.

Complete beginners and those with experience. This workshop is intended for adults 18 .

Is it your first time?
We love to share our love of clay with you and everything we’ve learned through years of playing with clay. This course is a great introduction to pottery.

How long is the workshop?
One and a half hour sessions – clean up is included.

Pick up For workshops:
We first bisque fire your pieces after a week or so once it’s dried completely, then once cooled we glaze and refire. Pieces usually take 3-4 weeks to be completed students are emailed when the work is ready to be picked up.
