Event Details
Celebrate International Day of Women & Girls in Science and International Women’s Day with our STEMinist Speaker Series at Joseph Brant Museum! The series will highlight the experiences and career pathways of women working in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Speakers will also share challenges, successes, and advice with those interested in STEM fields. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the special exhibition Iron Willed: Women in STEM prior to the presentation, followed by a screening of the Canadian film Ms. Scientist.

Featuring Dr. Ève Gilroy
Dr. Ève Gilroy is a research scientist at Environment and Climate Change Canada, playing a key role in advancing environmental research. Based at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) in Burlington, Ontario, she contributes to studies on aquatic contaminants and water quality monitoring.

Featuring Vaishali Sridhar
Vaishali Sridhar is a scientist turned educator and the founder of BioTroopers Inc. With a background in molecular biology, genomics, and biotech, she created BioTroopers to make life sciences engaging and hands-on for children. Inspired by her daughter’s curiosity, Vaishali blends science with art, music, and play to spark a lifelong love of biology.
Ticket includes admission to Joseph Brant Museum, speaker presentation and question period (1hr), Ms. Scientist film screening (45min), light beverages and popcorn. The Museum will open 1-hour prior to the presentation for those who wish to view the exhibits.
