OFFA's 6th annual International Women's Day Celebration

Oakville Festivals of Film & Art (OFFA) is gearing up for their 6th annual International Women’s Day celebration on Sunday March 1, 2026, and will be shining a spotlight on the achievements of women in film, music and the arts.  This is going to be a FANTASTIC afternoon – featuring the romcom MILE END KICKS directed by Burlington filmmaker Chandler Levack, the film features a stellar cast including Barbie Ferreira, Devon Bostick, Stanley Simons and Juliette Gariiépy. It follows a young woman who’s feeling stuck and out of place at home and at school, and who becomes drawn into a new crowd and a more rebellious lifestyle exploring themes of identity, belonging, friendship, family tension, and the push-pull between freedom and consequences.

Guest emcee and Oakvillian Carole Bertuzzi-Luciani will host OFFA’s IWD once again, along with live musical performances from Oakville born singer, songwriter Lara Simonet, Canadian born award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist Natasha Meister, and Nix Ironstone Singer/ Songwriter/Harmonia Live Founder/CMAOntario 1st Vice Chair.   Following this screening, OFFA will host a live panel moderated by Rania Walker, President, and founder Front Door PR. with special guests Sherry Sinclaire, Co-Chair, Women in Music Hamilton, Halton, and singer songwriter Nix Ironstone.

Partial proceeds from this years’ VIP Pass ticket sales and Film Fan Tickets will be donated to the United Way Halton & Hamilton (UWHH): Women United in support of their Glow Programs. So be sure to get your tickets!
