Easy summer decorating and dining tips

arties inevitably end up in the kitchen, but in the summer the fun
moves from the kitchen island to the backyard. Here are some
summer suggestions from the merchants of downtown Oakville
that will help make your backyard dinner party a success.
FOOD
You’ve decided to have a get together, so the first thing to organize is
the menu. It’s summer, people are relaxed and are happy just to gather
and socialize. Keep the food simple: salads, cold drinks and fresh fruit
to go along with your BBQ meat of choice. You can make life even
easier by picking up prepared salads, dips or desserts from one of the
food merchants downtown. Keep bugs away by covering food with
wire mesh colanders or retro – and colourful – food tents just like mom
used to use.
DRINKS
Hot days equal cool drinks. Use a cooler, or a brightly coloured rubber
