Kori’s Roti

Kori’s Roti

Kori’s Roti has been serving passionately made authentic Trinidadian cuisine for almost forty years. If you’re looking for a taste of the Caribbean, this is THE place to go in Oakville.

Before you order at Kori’s, we’ll have to warn you about their spice levels. There are eight levels on their pepper scale, starting from mild and ending with suicide. Most customers tend to go for a touch or touch+, which are just a couple levels above mild. Go beyond that territory and may find yourself really struggling – we’re speaking from experience.

Every Roti shop has a different recipe, and Kori’s has a hint of Indian taste in theirs. Each Roti has potatoes and a choice of chicken, beef, goat or shrimp that is doused in a curry-like sauce and wrapped with flaky paratha flatbread. This combination results in an explosion of flavours with each bite. Size options include Full Size and Small (which is about 3/4 of the full-size).

If you’d prefer something a little less messy, you can try one of their rice dishes. The choice of meat is the same as the options for Roti, with the additions of Jerk Chicken, Mixed Vegetable, Chick Pea, and Pumpkin. The image below is a big Full Size Chicken Rice Dish. If you’re looking for a lighter lunch, you could choose to get the Half Size option instead.

Finally, what would a Caribbean restaurant be without Jamaican Patties? Kori’s is partnered with Michidean’s classic authentic Jamaican Patties. If you’re looking to quickly snatch a delicious bite, these are perfect.

Kori’s Roti is a friendly restaurant with delicious Trinidadian food – there’s no wonder why they’re so popular. It’s a super popular lunch spot – just be sure to check their operating hours before making your way to Speers Road.
